L-144 Super Red Bushynose Fin Pleco

Bushynose plecos are found all over the Amazon basin and are good tankmates as they eat algae and scavange uneaten food and only grow to five inches in the fish tank. Though these are plentiful and affordable plecos, they have a very unique appearance. Also called bristlenose plecos, antler like grows at the top of their nose gets larger and larger as the fish ages.

The super red bushynose, however, is not found in the wild. These bright creatures have been bred to display a solid red body that gets deeper red as the fish ages. Super red bushynose plecos are not the same as the lower price albinos, they have full black eyes on a red body and are difficult to breed.

These guys are tricky eaters when young and we do not want anyone to lose their fish. One breeder trick is to add a few cut green beans to the tank, they do like to eat these!
