The Goliath tigerfish is the top of the food chain in West Africa, and has a larger body and longer teeth than the smaller Vittatus tigerfish. These fish are caught in the smaller rivers of the Niger River basin and rarely appear in the trade, through the fish is often featured on TV shows such as “River Monsters”. Tigerfish require live feeder fish, which is part of their appeal. The diet should not just consist of feeder goldfish but mixed with other species and some can be adapted to frozen foods.
